The Good, the Bad, and the Grizzly – Reflections of a Federalist Mama Bear

Editorial: Drain the Swamp? Rather, Rise of the #BossSwampMonster…

By @BearingTruth

President Trump presented himself in the General Election as the candidate that would govern as an outsider, even claiming that he would “Drain the DC Swamp.” Unfortunately, his renewed support of progressive[i] policies demonstrates his appetite for big federal government swamp. His claims that he will #DrainTheSwamp have become only too obviously opposite, as he #FillsTheSwamp[ii]  with Goldman-Sachs[iii] alumni; millionaires who “didn’t want the job[iv]” appointed to his cabinet; individuals with rumored connections to Russia; and the influx of #TrumpSpawn in positions of power.  Indeed, it appears that President Trump is the new Swamp Monster emerging from the left side of the swamp. As a #gamergirl, I now think of him as the #BossSwampMonster in the #DCSwampDungeon.

The Shift from Right to Left

The Hills of DC are Alive with the Sound of Hurling…or “AHCA”

If “Draining the Swamp” was intended to decrease the intrusion of the Federal government into individual and State’s rights, then not only has Trump failed to #DrainTheSwamp as he promised, but he is instead feeding and nurturing the establishment Swamp Monster known as Obamacare with the new American Health Care Act Bill, with an acronym that can only be described as the sound of vomiting and policies that induced nausea in progressives and conservatives alike. Hold my hair back please!

Why so nauseating? Simple. AHCA neither repeals nor replaces Obamacare. It would EXPAND Obamacare, add more economic burdens, and would not improve health care[v]. AHCA would hasten the devolution of health care into the socialized[vi] federal government controlled #SinglePayer[vii] system that President Trump has consistently supported BEFORE registering as a republican to run for the presidency and claiming to want full repeal of Obamacare. So much for repeal and replace. (I’m sensing more AHCA sounds forthcoming!)

Filling the Swamp

During his campaign, President Trump claimed that he would #DrainTheSwamp. What a load of hooey! This has NOT happened, as #BossSwampMonster instead fills the swamp[viii]  with Goldman-Sachs[ix] alumni, millionaires who “didn’t want the job[x]” being appointed to his cabinet; and individuals with rumored connections to Russia. And his family; let’s not forget his family. Not only is Ivanka getting her own office in the WH[xi], but now her husband, Jared Kushner, has been tapped to lead newly created swampland, er, a newly created White House office of American Innovation[xii]. I guess that he wasn’t happy with his role advising the Swamp-Monster-In-Law on Israel. (So much for #HeWentToJared…) Nothing like some monster nepotism to highlight how rapidly the swamp is being filled with other, lesser monsters. “AHCA!” #BetterGetMeABucket

When Swamp Monsters Attack

President Trump has used his position as president as a bully pulpit to badger Congress to vote in the AHCA bill, otherwise known as #ObamacareLite, #RyanCare, #RINOCare, and #Trumpcare, rather than demand a free-market approach to health care, returning control of insurance back to the markets and the consumer. President Trump has also failed to educate the public on the difference between health insurance coverage and health care and failed to explain the merits of a Federalist approach to healthcare and insurance coverage.

Ironically, and fortunately for the American people, the Trump administration pulled AHCA as there was little to no support from either democrats (who love the federal overreach legislated in Obamacare) or conservatives who don’t want Obamacare2.0 and who recognized that the bill did little to curtail the unconstitutional takeover of the health insurance industry. Hopefully, the attacks on President Trump by the left may lead to fewer of his progressive ideologies, like AHCA, being implemented during his administration.

Monstrous Rampages

Twitter Tantrums

Trump has frequently used Twitter to boast, make expansive promises or declarations, and express his outrage or anger when things do not go his way. During the AHCA debacle, he attacked the #FreedomCaucus on Twitter for their position against the AHCA, going off on Twitter in two tweets accusing them of supporting Planned Parenthood, as follows:

[xiii]

And here I thought Swamp Monsters, especially Bosses, had better attack powers than this…

When Surrogates Attack

#BossSwampMonster also likes to attack those who thwart him not just on Twitter, but through surrogates. Just recently, his Swampettes have gone on the attack on several issues, including:

  • Judge Jeanne calls for Paul Ryan’s resignation after Trump tweets to watch her show[xiv]
  • Bannon telling republicans they had “no choice” but to vote for AHCA[xv]
  • Suggesting democrats might be behind the bomb threats against Jews[xvi]
  • Trump doesn’t lie; he speaks “Americanese”[xvii] (Here comes those AHCA sounds again…)

Not the approach of a professional or presidential leader…but typical of a #BossSwampMonster whose Swampette minions willingly defy logic, facts, and humiliation to defend their “God-Emperor”[xviii]

What’s Next for the #BossSwampMonster

In light of the metamorphosis of the #DrainTheSwamp outsider candidate into #BossSwampMonster, will President Trump’s failure to support a #FullRepeal result in a one-term presidency, as suggested by #FreedomCaucus member Rep. Thomas Massie[xix]? Will his continued transformation back into the progressive policy stances he supported prior to his candidacy as a Republican finally awaken the republicans and moderates who voted for him to the danger of a populist progressive in GOP clothing? Will we finally be able beat the #DCSwampDungeon and tell the #BossSwampMonster “You’re Fired?”
