Home » The Issues – Armaments

It is the position of the Federalist Coalition that the right to bear arms is immutable for law abiding citizens. This is a right that is not only essential to liberty and safety but is clearly defined in the Constitution.

The second amendment states:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

As such, there should be no federal restrictions on the legal ownership of firearms by the citizenry.  Furthermore, there should be no state or local restrictions on the legal ownership of firearms.  Such laws are unconstitutional, and are thus should be considered void.
